TL;DR: Go to thatsthem.com/optout, enter your full name, street address, city, state, ZIP, phone and email, pass the Cloudflare check and click “Submit opt-out request.” There’s no email link to click. ThatsThem says it processes requests within 72 hours. Afterwards, search yourself by name, address, phone and email, because each can be a separate listing.
What ThatsThem shows
ThatsThem is a free lookup site that lets anyone search by name, address, phone number or email address. That last one is notable: type an email, get a name and address. If you’ve ever wondered how a stranger turned your email into your street, sites like this are part of the answer.
Step by step
From Redact’s ThatsThem removal guide:
- Open thatsthem.com/optout.
- Enter your full name, street address, city, state, ZIP, phone and email.
- Complete the Cloudflare Turnstile check.
- Click “Submit opt-out request.” A green tick and “Request Submitted!” confirm it. Screenshot that panel.
No account and no email link are needed. It takes a minute or two per record.
After 72 hours
ThatsThem says it processes requests within 72 hours and sends a confirmation email in that window (check spam). Then:
- search yourself in a private window on all four tabs: Name, Address, Phone and Email;
- submit another request for any listing still showing;
- if that fails, email optout@thatsthem.com with what you submitted and your screenshot.
Who’s behind ThatsThem
ThatsThem is run by Spokeo. California’s data broker registry (an August 2026 snapshot compiled by Offlist) lists Thatsthem.com among the sites Spokeo, Inc. does business as, alongside Spokeo.com, AnyWho, Family.me, Freepeopledirectory and Peoplewin.
The catch: Spokeo’s own opt-out at spokeo.com/optout doesn’t cover ThatsThem, which keeps its separate form. Redact says the same. So do both: Spokeo’s form clears the other Spokeo sites, and this one clears ThatsThem.
In California? Because Spokeo is a registered broker, a single request through the state’s DROP platform should reach it too (how DROP works). Registered brokers must process DROP requests within 90 days from 1 August 2026.
Every other site still needs its own request, which is why our broker list exists.
The email-to-address problem
Because ThatsThem searches by email, the email you use everywhere is effectively a key to your home address. Consider separate emails for shopping and sign-ups (aliases help), and see what your email address reveals. To see which breaches your email has been in, run a free email exposure check.
