TL;DR: PeopleWhiz is a US people-search site that sells reports on names, addresses, phone numbers and relatives. To opt out, use the “Remove My Info” link in its footer, find your record, confirm by email, and send the proof of identity it asks for. Use a spare email address, keep copies of what you send, and check similar people-search sites too, because removing one listing does not remove the others.

What PeopleWhiz shows about you

PeopleWhiz is a paid people-search site. Like most in this category, it pulls public records and commercial data into reports that can include current and past addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, relatives and associates. Anyone who pays can look you up, which is why people-search listings show up so often in stalking and harassment cases. Our explainer on opting out of US people-search sites covers how these sites work in general.

How to opt out of PeopleWhiz

These steps follow Optery's PeopleWhiz guide, last updated July 2026:

  1. Go to peoplewhiz.com, scroll to the footer and click Remove My Info under Company.
  2. Follow the link to search for your record. Enter your first and last name, city and state, and click Search Now.
  3. Find your record and click That's Me.
  4. Enter an email address and click Next. PeopleWhiz sends a confirmation link to it.
  5. Choose how to send proof of identity, complete the captcha and follow the on-screen instructions.
  6. Open the email and click Confirm Opt-out.

Optery says removal happens once PeopleWhiz receives your proof of identity. No fixed timeframe is given, so note the date you sent it.

Protect yourself while opting out

One opt-out isn't enough

People-search sites share and resell data, so the same listing usually exists on several sites. Work through the bigger ones as well. We have dedicated guides for Veripages and FastBackgroundCheck, and the full US data broker removal guide sets out a sensible order.

If your details are being posted to harass you, opting out is only part of it. See what to do about doxxing.

People-search sites are one source of exposure; breaches are another. A free email exposure check shows which breaches your email appears in, and the full Scan My Shadow scan adds your phone number.
